Clifton Community Regularization & Development Project

The SCJ Holdings Limited (SCJH) under its Community Regularization Programme hosted its second staging of the issuance of Certificates of Possession to residents of former sugar dependent communities. The community of Clifton, St. Catherine was in focus at the Certificate of Possession Hand-over Ceremony which was held at the Clifton Playing Field on May 20, 2015. As with the Hertford/Morass Lane Hand-over Ceremony, this ceremony commenced the process of allowing some 400 families now living in this community the opportunity to become registered proprietors. In this initial phase, 101 residents were awarded certificates. The Prime Minister, The Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller ON, MP, several Government Ministers, other high ranking government officials, local government leaders, agencies and corporate entities were in attendance to mark this momentous occasion.
